Spam, Spam, Spam

I got a mail from myself the other day. Well, when I actually looked at it it wasn’t from myself at all but from someone calling himself KennethFus. He was anxious to let me in on his groundbreaking new technique of advertising. And to do that he posted his business pitch using the mail form on my site. The purpose of this form is OC to be an easy way for site members to let me know if the site isn’t working the way it should or to request support in any way regarding the site.

This is what he wrote:

We make available a new way of sending business offer through feedback forms. Such forms are located on many sites.
When such appeal are sent, no personal data is used, and messages are sent to forms specifically designed to receive messages and appeals.
Also, messages sent through contact Forms do not get into spam because such messages are considered important.
We offer you to test our service for free. We will send up to 50,000 messages for you.
The cost of sending one million messages is 49 USD.

Hi Kenneth.

That is a really stupid way to advertise your business.

Nobody in his right mind would use such a technique, legit or not, since all it would do is piss site owners off.

It's a misuse of the feedback form and I don't think there would be much interest in doing business with someone who manipulates and cheats to get his message spread. Also it's quite easy to stop on member sites  by restricting the use of the form to members and then get rid of members who try this stunt.

My fee for this business advice is 49 USD. I also accept an equal amount in Bitcoin.

The Gmail adress is made up and according to Google it doesn’t, and never did, exist. The other one might be working since it goes to his domain, but then I got a little bit curious and decided to check his business out, so I went to his web site. It looked like this:

So, what do You think? Is he a legit businessman or a shady scriptkid? Do You think his idea will work? Would You do business this way?

Please comment. 🙂
